Vietnam War Memorial
Washington, D.C.
More than 55,000 names are on this wall. Many of those names were personnel assigned to
NKP RTAFB during the Secret War. Some who were lost have not been found and are either
Missing In Action or Killed in Action, but their remains have not been recovered.
Mission- To achieve the fullest possible accounting of all
Americans missing as a result of the nation's past conflicts.
JPAC receiving remains for identification
JPAC team sifting soil samples for
possible identifying evidence.
JPAC laboratory technician
performing analysis of recovered
remains.
Approximately 1,780 personnel are still unaccounted for as a result
of the action in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia during the Vietnam
War. JPAC dispatches approximately 10 teams each year to
Southeast Asia to search for remains. This effort will continue until
all personnel are accounted for and returned to their loved ones.
We will monitor the progress and update this information on a
continuing basis.
